Our Team

Our management and organizational structure is set up to ensure sound and professional management of our strategies and operations. Our Organization Structure is as follows:

Chief Executive Officer’s Office: The CEO’s office is responsible for the coordination of all activities performed by the company including strategies, business development, operations, finance, administration and risk management activities.

Operation & Research: The service line is responsible for customers care, research analysis and providing corporate finance advisory services.

In research analysis -- the service line carries out investment analysis, research analysis and provides daily and weekly commentary on the market performance for listed securities, fixed income securities and other financial products. This value adding service enable our clients make more informed portfolio selection and investment decision.

Trading and Sales: this service line is primarily responsible for:

  • Buying and selling of shares on the DSE on behalf of clients
  • Disseminating daily and weekly market reports on equities and fixed income securities
  • Opening and transferring CDS accounts
  • Trading of Government securities and corporate bonds
  • Leading the sales efforts for all types of securities (equities, fixed income securities and money market instruments)
  • Establishing working relationships with investors
  • Assisting clients in immobilization/dematerialization of shares.

Corporate Finance Advisory: The corporate finance advisory service focuses on:

  • Securities issuing and listing advisory
  • Cost of capital analysis
  • Balance sheet restructuring
  • Mergers & acquisitions
  • Business and share valuations
  • Employee Share Ownership Plan and Option Schemes (ESOPs) advisory

In the Equity and Debt Capital Markets, the service line is responsible for:

  • Providing advisory services as capital market lead advisor on equities public offering, offering debt instrument placing agency services and sponsoring brokerage services.
  • Prior to going public, the team assist shareholders and management with in-depth balance sheet, regulatory, ownership and cost analysis to help firms weigh the benefits of a public listing on the DSE versus private equity.
  • The team also assist companies already listed on the DSE to undertake secondary offerings or listing additional shares.

Asset Management Services: As assets managers, the service line is responsible for investing on behalf of our clients, insurance companies, insurance brokers, community banks, SACCOS, high net worth individuals and retail investors. In offering professional management services we cover portfolio advisory, wealth enhancement strategies, risk management, savings and retirement plans.

Accounting & Finance: the service line is responsible for back office support services and accounting processes such as preparation of statutory reports, processing of accounting and book-keeping activities, production of management reports, production of financial reports, Client’s trading confirmation, producing Contract Notes, Trading Settlements, Billing and Collections. The service line is also responsible for providing back office support activities for front office team. Such activities are such as I.T processes.



We are currently a team of 10 people -- below are profiles of some of our key staff:

Mr. Thomas Samkyi

Thomas holds a Master’s degree in Agricultural Economics from the University of Florida (USA) as well as a Bachelor’s degree in Agriculture from the Sokoine University of Agriculture, Morogoro. His work experience includes successfully setting up a new development bank, turning around an existing loss making financial institution, laying the ground work for establishment of a stock broking subsidiary of a financial institution, overseeing the credit delivery and treasury functions of a bank, and conducting research so as to inform investment decisions.

Thomas is currently the Chief Executive Officer of Tanzania Securities Limited (TSL). Prior to joining the TSL Group, he was the founding Managing Director of Tanzania Agricultural Development Bank Limited (TADB).

Ms. Basilisa Pamfili

Basilisa holds Master in Business Administration, an Advanced Diploma in Accounting, and also a Certified Public Accountant (CPA).

Basilisa head the Accounting function at Tanzania Securities Ltd. She has experience in Corporate Finance advisory services having engaged in capital raising transactions both for corporate bonds and equities. Her experience is around private placement transactions, valuation assignments and sponsoring broker for equities and bond transaction, she manages all the financial reports for the company. She have vast knowledge on financial management and risk management.

Mr. Lawrence Sangawe

Lawrence is the Investment expert. He is in charge of investment advisory services and Bond placement. He has extensive experience in equities and bond trading as well as portfolio management. He has been involved in several applications of Bond issuance and listing and valuation exercise for corporates. His role includes drafting and review of prospectus and prepare checklist for compliance check. Lawrence holds Master of Science in Accounting and Finance (Msc. A & F) from Mzumbe University a Postgraduate Diploma in Finance Management (PGDFM) and an Advance Diploma in Accounting (ADA). Lawrence has more than 10years experience. He qualifies for the certification for the Derivative Market Trader under CMSA.
